Excellent Lubricity and Film Strength

High-performance and race-designed two-stroke engines operate under severe conditions. They are modified for higher compression ratios, higher rpm and leaner combustion, all of which increase heat and pressure. High heat can quickly burn off light oils and cause rapid piston expansion, decreasing piston-to-cylinder wall clearances and increasing the likelihood of piston scuffing and seizure. High pressure can exceed the film strength of low-viscosity oils, which promotes crankshaft bearing wear and pitting.

Dominator® is purpose-built for outstanding film strength and lubricity. It is engineered with carefully selected, higher-viscosity synthetic base oils to withstand the high heat and pressure common to high-performance and racing applications. Dominator’s anti-friction chemistry is race-proven to provide an extra measure of protection against piston scuffing and bearing wear.

Outstanding Cleanliness

The oil and fuel burned in the two-stroke combustion process leave destructive deposits on the pistons, rings and in the combustion chamber. Excessive deposits can lead to catastrophic engine problems, including ring sticking, exhaust port blocking and pre-ignition.

RACING IS RESEARCH™

During the opening weekend of the 2015/16 Amsoil Championship Snocross season, professional rider Lincoln Lemieux’s Ski-Doo* RS600 suffered a broken hose clamp, allowing the coolant to pump from the system. The intense heat that resulted melted the exhaust power valve covers, O-rings and engine gaskets. Dominator Synthetic 2-Stroke Racing Oil, however, delivered exceptional protection despite the severe conditions. The rings and pistons were still free and the crankshaft turned freely. Scheuring Speed Sports is able to reuse the engine after repairing the melted parts, providing concrete testimony of Dominator’s superior performance.

Applications

Use in high-performance stock or modified two-stroke engines, including air- or liquid-cooled snowmobiles, personal watercraft, motorstrokes (moto X), ATVs, go-carts and outboard motors**. Good for use with coated or non-coated pistons, high-octane racing fuels and exhaust power valves. Compatible with most other two-stroke oils; however, mixing oils should be minimized.

Use in oil-injected and pre-mix applications that require API TC oils. In pre-mix applications, Dominator delivers outstanding protection at 50:1 (2.6 oz. oil per U.S. gallon of gas), although many racers modify the mix ratio to suit their setup. Not suitable for use with alcohol or nitro-methane fuels.

** Not suitable for long-term use in outboard motors as a TC-W3-type oil, although excellent as a race oil for short-term use where motors are periodically inspected.

Two-stroke snowmobiles are meant to be ridden hard. Repeatedly pushing a machine to wide-open throttle during all-day, aggressive riding, however, takes its toll on the engine. INTERCEPTOR Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil is specifically designed for maximum performance in all makes of two-stroke snowmobiles, including Ski-Doo*, Polaris* and Arctic Cat*, helping enthusiasts spend more time riding and less performing maintenance. It is compatible with nearly all other two-stroke oils, while its low-smoke, low-odor properties help ensure riders won’t be “smoked out.” INTERCEPTOR is engineered to be pushed as hard as the sleds it protects.

Anti-Scuff/Anti-Wear

Snowmobile engines have evolved to run on leaner gas-to-oil mixtures, increasing harmful friction and heat. INTERCEPTOR’s synthetic formulation incorporates high-molecular-weight components with high flash points that resist burn-off. As a result, a greater amount of oil survives the combustion process to provide lubrication and protection. Its excellent lubricity and film strength inhibit metal-to-metal contact. In extreme dynamometer testing, INTERCEPTOR’s anti-scuff/anti-wear formula completely prevented piston skirt scuffing.

Excellent Deposit Control

INTERCEPTOR naturally resists harmful deposits due to its thermally stable synthetic formulation. It is additionally fortified with high-temperature detergency and dispersancy additives that provide excellent engine cleanliness. In extreme dynamometer testing, INTERCEPTOR completely prevented piston ring and exhaust power valve sticking for maximum performance. It also limited piston, combustion chamber and spark plug deposits for reliable operation.

INTERCEPTOR Field Trial Results

During the winter of 2015/16, INTERCEPTOR was tested in the three top makes of snowmobiles. Each sled was added to the rental fleet of a different outfitter in the Eagle River, Wis., area and placed into service. Following the season, the sleds were disassembled and examined for wear. Results reveal INTERCEPTOR prevented piston ring sticking and piston scuffing, (see below) while the exhaust power valves contained no abnormal deposit buildup and did not stick.

Excellent Wear Protection

The elevated heat and friction of modern two-stroke marine motors can exceed the film strength of inferior oils, increasing the likelihood of scuffing and wear. HP Marine’s exclusive synthetic formulation provides increased lubricity for reduced wear during normal and lean-mix operation (see field study results). In 534 hours of field testing, HP Marine completely prevented piston skirt and cylinder bore scuffing, demonstrating its superior lubricity and ability to reduce friction between moving parts. It maintains a strong lubricating film even in lean-mix, severe-service conditions, helping marine engines achieve maximum life.

Outstanding Deposit Control

HP Marine is formulated with MAXDOSE™, a system of advanced additives for “super-clean” operation. It helps prevent deposits that lead to poor performance. In field testing, HP Marine inhibited ring deposits that can cause ring sticking and ring jacking (carbon buildup behind the ring, forcing it outward), a phenomenon that occurs in modern DFI outboard motors. Marine E-TEC Field Study Proves HPM Excells

HP Marine was installed in a 250-hp Evinrude E-TEC engine powering a heavy-duty marine rescue vessel. Following a 28-hour break-in period at the normal oil setting, the engine was programmed to its factory-lean setting and operated for 506 hours prior to disassembly.
